This unit explores the use of ICT to make resources and meet the varied learning styles of students. It will cover the basic elements of capturing digital images and preparing the images for use in other applications e.g. PowerPoint, Photostory3.

This unit explores the interactive use of digital media in an educational context. It will cover the basic skills of presenting with an interactive whiteboard, capturing and editing video. Students will be using moviemaker (PC), Pinnacle (PC) or iMovie (MAC).

It will cover how to teach effectively with an interactive whiteboard and the integration of digital media e.g. image, video and sound. Students will learn the tool sets associated with Smart and/or Promethean boards.

This module will explore the creative use of digital video, images and sound. Students will learn how to capture, edit and apply digital resources. Issues of copyright and the importance of visual literacy will be interwoven throughout the course.
This module will suit educators who wish to use digital media in creative ways. Some prior knowledge would be helpful but is not essential. Students will receive 20 university CATS points for this unit accredited through Hull University.
This module will cover the generic digital media skills needed to underpin the teaching of DIDA units Graphics and Multimedia. The course will use the Macromedia Suite and iLife 06. It will include the making of an e-Portfolio using Macromedia Dreamweaver.
Students will be expected to complete a digital portfolio suitable for DIDA requirements. Time will be allocated for peer discussion and sharing of good practice within the course delivery. This course will not cover issues of assessment and Edexcel organisation.
